Facilities

Shokeen International School covers some of the facilities which include Transportation, Medical, Sports, Multipurpose Hall, Library.

Transportation:

To make commutation convenient transportation facility is provided to the students taking the following points into consideration

The school bus is made available to every student living within 20 km. the radius of the school.
Bus- timings to be strictly followed both by the students and school administration.
It is made sure that each student is provided with a proper sitting arrangement.
Road and safety rules to be followed by the driver very strictly.
Pick and drop will be given from the nearest distance from home depending upon the location of residence and conditions of the road.
For safety and security, a helper is provided at the gate of every bus.
Transportation facility is provided at the minimum charges.
All school buses pick and drop the students from inside the school premises only.
Safety rules are introduced to the students by Delhi Traffic Police Personnel from time to time.
The teacher’s duties are assigned for the look after children at the school bus.

Medical facilities:

Students are given due care regarding their medical fitness.
Regular medical check-up is done by experienced medical practitioners..
b ” Checking of personal hygiene like cleanliness, nails and dress is done on daily basis.
Medical room has been set up to look after the student if they suffer from common ailments as diarrhea, flu, faints etc.
Medical leave is granted to the students suffering from chronic diseases like jaundice, typhoid, dengue, provided the required papers and certificates be deposited in the school within the time limit
In case of serious illness or any mis- happening during the school timing students are rushed to the nearest hospitals.

Sports :

Keeping in mind the all-round development of students the school provides the best of opportunities for the students to participate in various sports. Competitions are organized to inculcate the spirit of healthy competition and build up sound team spirit. S.I.S. is well equipped with the latest and sophisticated tools and types of equipment for various games like cricket football basketball relay etc. Training of athletic events is also made available to students.
Students with excellence in different activities are praised and honored in the annual function.
Swimming is organized during the summer months i.e., from April to August/September.
Training is given in Taekwondo, Karate, skating, swimming, etc.

Multipurpose Hall:

To cater to the diverse interests of the students, S.I.S. is accommodated with the multipurpose hall. It is built to cater to the following needs:

For showing film strips/ movies
Many musical instruments are available in the school multipurpose hall and practice for this is provided by professional trainers.
This hall is also used for conduction of various competitions viz. dance, music, quiz, science or craft exhibitions, etc.

Admission Procedure:

Shokeen International School is an independent school and admission is at the discretion of the Principal and the management team in keeping with the national policy.
Admission to SIS is open to all without any distinction of castes, creed, color, or religion.
Assessment for admission is normally by informal interaction conducted between the Principal and the student and both parents or caretakers. The interaction will be conducted in a way that demonstrates the prospective student’s personality and capabilities.
The school is committed to admitting any child who clears the interaction provided there is a vacancy.
When there is no place in the desired class, successful students will be placed on a waiting list and considered for the first available place. Parents are advised to apply for admission at the earliest.

Every student and teacher of SIS is expected to be an active member of the community. We provide multiple opportunities to interact with the local community, to share knowledge, and learn on a mutual basis. SIS family plans to actively participate in organizing health and educational camps for the local population, help the economically weaker sections of the society and contribute to the process of prosperous nation-building.

Library:

The school gives information, inculcates ideas, and develops creative thinking and imagination so as students live as ideal and responsible citizens. Our school library has a variety of daily, weeklies, and educational and other journals prescribe for the students as well as for the teachers. Students use it for reading materials and to get the information and to guide them to use books, reference books, and other material tools of the library. To inculcate the reading habit among the students and to make them aware about our school library which holds discussions, story sessions and to motivate the students to consult a dictionary to increase the vocabulary, etc. now we are automating our library so that there should be efficiency in speed and operation and students get the list of books in order of Author, Subject, Publisher, Title, etc. along with the latest arrival reports. At present, the total collections of books in our School Library are OVER 3000.

Students are required to follow the following LIBRARY RULES

Students are allowed to borrow only one book at a time and retain it for the period prescribed. Those who do not return the book in time will be fined Rs.2.00 per day per book.
Marking, underlining or annotating in the library books is strictly forbidden.
Borrowers are required to examine the books at the time of borrowing and report to the librarian about the damage, loss of page or picture etc.
Books lost, damaged or wrongly handled will have to be paid for or replaced. The discretion of the Principal in this matter shall be final and binding.
